About

I make things. All kinds of things. Currently, I am into making bath and body products. Not only a crafter at heart, I wear lots of other hats too. Like my most rewarding gig, a full time mother of 2 girls. I'm also a children's dance teacher, a nationally certified massage therapist, a wife, a homemaker, a crafter, a Taurus, a New Englander at heart "stuck" in California and a woman trying to find her own way in todays day and age.
I am keenly interested in simple ways that we can change the environment. I strongly believe that lot's of people making small changes will make a big impact.

The first time I started to seriously consider the impact of personal hygiene products was when I was in massage school 5 years ago. Like my most rewarding gig, a full time mother of 2 girls. I am keenly interested in simple ways that we can change the environment. I strongly believe that lot's of people making small changes will make a big impact.

The first time I started to seriously consider the impact of personal hygiene products was when I was in massage school 5 years ago. The idea was presented to us that every single thing we put on our skin is soaked up into our bodies- everything! I started looking at the labels of my shampoo, my body wash, my moisturizer and I found too many ingredients that I couldn't even pronounce, let alone know what they were or where they came from. I didn't want my liver to have to process all that junk (because thats what happens with everything that goes through us, we have to process it, and although some of it passes through, some of it stays in us- forever!), and I certainly didn't want to send it all down the drain of my tub to cause further envirnmental damage.
So I began to seek out other choices. I remember being really impressed with a product, a massage cream that said on it's package that it was so natural that you could eat it. It only had 5 ingredients and it worked wonderfully and smelled incredible. This got me thinking, "I could make this...., but I could make it better and put it in recyclable containers..." And so I did. And it caught on at the spa that I was working at, and soon other massage therapist were asking for more and more. And that's how AngelMade was born.
I am inspired to re-define luxurious spa like treatments/products into an environmentally sound equivalent. I am amazed at the bounty of nature and the awesomeness of plants. I am hopeful for the future as more and more of us make the small change to natural ingredients in our lives that will add up to a big change in the collective health of our planet.
