I come from a family of artsy-fartsy, 100% Irish, pretty fun people. Our mom was always very creative and taught us how to do lots of stuff. Earliest memory of using my own ideas to make things: crocheting doll clothes at about age 6 or 7.
Since then, I have obsessed with many different materials, many at the same time. However, for the last 25 years, clay seems to be winning out over other stuff. I do like to roll it out and pretend it's fabric, or make my own press molds for tiles, wearables, etc. Beads and funky little components seem to be in every firing.
Design elements I am presently enamored of consist of junk stamps used in surprising ways, humorous wearbles with thought-provoking mystery words (often in Latin-kudos for Catholic HS!) or odd wacky appendages. That's about all I can tell you, except that I am on the photography learning curve. Hope to conquer it and post more goofy stuff…
