My story,
fifty years ago aged 9 it was a wet afternoon in the school holidays and my aunt showed me how to knit, i was in the brownies at the time and decided to do my knitting badge i made to my mums amazement a knitted doll and a pair of socks, since then i havnt stopped crafting.
At 16 i wanted to go to art college but that didnt happen and like everybody else i went to work in a factory its what you did as i lived in a town in the north of england, So for 20 years i was a frustrated artist, but i was still knitting and i would by dress material on a friday lunchtime and spend saturday making a dress for saturday night, My hoppies as well was gardening , and making wine and beer,
I would spend alot of time dreaming of being self sufficient and living in the country
When my daughter was born i had the chance to move to Somerset and the next stage in my life began, i would spend my days teaching my daughter crafts we would always be crafting, i also kept sheep, goats pigs, chickens, turkeys made cheese and bread self sufficiency had begun
Over the years i have collected hundreds of craft books and have a few files filled with my own designs. My daughter made me proud when she went to art college and got her degree now she is a full time model and designer Elle Beth

Now the next stage in my life came along arthritus took over my feet, legs and lower back so i had to slow down, so now i have more time to work on my crafts . I love to spin, dye ,weave and knit with my own sheep wool, creating my own shades of colour, I am really relaxed when knitting weaving or crocheting and soon get lost in my work
embroidery and sewing can also be so creative and i am still learning new creative ideas i do find sheep wool a fascinating material . I have so many ideas i want to make.
My latest work is fine cotton crochet, using patterns from 1800 to the present day
I like the idea of creating items that one day will be a family heirloom, and that every lady will own a pair of my fine crochet gloves.

so please keep calling back and spending time to view or possibly buy something original from my shop, Hope you found my story interesting, Today as i write i am also working with sheep wool., im also enjoying the art of fine crochet it is so delicate to work with after knitting with sheep wool i find my items a must have buy

thankyou for reading my story Millyx
