More about April:
I'm an Atlanta native with a fine arts background. I have a degree in painting and drawing. You'd think that would help when my attention shifted to making jewelry. Really, the design challenges are quite different. Luckily, I work in a library with a good stock of books, from which I've taught myself techniques and picked up some tips. It's fun to try to make something different, yet comfortable to wear, each time I sit down amongst the beads in my tiny home studio.

More about Ruthanne:
Studied painting and drawing in art school ages ago. After retiring from a career in archeology and historic preservation, my daughters encouraged me to try jewelry design. Courses at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN (wonderful instructors) led me to fabricate metal and enameled pieces to include in our designs. Inspirations for our handcrafted silver, bronze and brass pieces (metalsmithing) are often based on images from nature.
