About

Let's start where I started. I learned to knit when I moved in with a bunch of girls I worked with. The first girl to teach me to knit couldn't remember how. She ended up showing me so wrong that when one of the other girls in the house saw me struggling away, she laughed and then showed me how to actually knit. I began where most knitters begin, a scarf. This scarf turned into a shawl, which I did not want. At only 6 inches long, it was over 3 feet wide. It had started at only 5 inches wide. Oops.

Years later, this same unfortunate scarf, which I still have and love, got car engine gunk on it. So I gently hand washed it in the bathroom sink and hung it over the shower rod to dry. Now it is so long, I can't just wear it draped over my shoulders. Again, oops.

I learned my lessons, though. I quickly moved on to hats and intarsia. Now anything knitting makes me happy. Fortunately, I have a boyfriend and two dogs to knit for (two adorable Pembroke Welsh Corgis - Nisa and Ernie).

And now I am here. I have grown to make not only knitted items but the tools to make those knitted items.

If you want to read more about my crafting adventures, dog adventures, and possibly gaming adventures, check out my web comic at http://the-jerks.com. I will usually have something about the needles and other items I am making or a knitting project I am working on. Posts every Monday and Friday.

And finally, if you like my avatar and banner, I got them done by Anita Boyle (my very talented mom) at egressstudio.com. She does amazing work!
