About

I've always loved the movies of the 1930s and 40s, so it was hard not to become a fan of the beautiful Art Deco furniture and accessories that decorated so many of them. These beautiful items really helped define the look of so many of the musicals, and film noir movies from the 30s and 40s.

After my wife and I moved into our 1924 Craftsman bungalow in Oakland 11 years ago, my love of the Deco style only increased. Beautiful, functional and durable - what's not to like?

These clocks and tables and cigarette lighters and lamps and fans and ashtrays were well-made from durable materials by skilled craftspeople. And after sixty, seventy, or even eighty years, these beautiful items are still here, still working well, and will probably last another seventy years.

The items in my store come from auctions, antique stores, estate sales, garage sales, antique fairs, and represent the best of my collection (they all work). Some items show more signs of age than others, but they are all vintage items, for the most part 60 or more years old. I will picture and describe my wares honestly, so what you see is what you get.

As for the personal, I still live in Oakland in the same small 1924 bungalow. I love Telechron and Westclox clocks, Eagle lamps and antique fans of almost any type. I would love to fill the house with Art Deco kitsch. My fine wife does not feel the same way - thus the Artdecotime store!

Please take a look around my store, and feel free to ask questions about any of the items here.
