About

Hi Thank you for checking in! I hope you enjoy looking at my art as much as
I do creating it. If you like what you see please add me to your favorites.

I have been involved in the creative industry for ten years and my designs have been licienced for greetings cards and scrapbook papers both in the UK and USA . I have three books published under my former name Ruth Watkins including Hand Painted Rustic Cards (Search Press ). I also worked as a freelance designer for Crafts Beautiful and Quick and Crafty magazines and was nominated as a favourite Designer in their Craft Awards. In the past I have run workshops at Missenden Abbey in Buckinghamshire, England and from my studio.

I have been making and painting since I was little and it is just what I am and what I do. If I haven't been able to get out to my studio for a few days, I start to get a bit jittery and need to splash some colours about to get my creative fix!

I start each painting by setting out the colours that ." are speaking to me" onto my palette. Then I just begin! I build up many layers and there are often hidden paintings underneath the end result! Once I have "finished" a painting I hang it up for a few days to see if it is really complete. It rarely is and will often be returned to my easel for a bit more tweaking!

My many life experiences have brought me to this point where I feel so much more confident to experiment with my work and create from the heart without being afraid of the outcome.

Life is good right now and I am looking forward to moving into my new larger studio in the summer where I will have more room to play. I am lucky to have a wonderful husband who is my rock and best friend as well as two grown up children who give me so much pleasure as I watch them embark on finding their own path. I am also blessed to have two wonderful foster daughters who have taught me so much and give me great joy.

Thanks for reading.
