I started making jewelry as an antidote to my day job as an Internal Recruiter. Being an Internal Recruiter is a great thing to do as you help find people jobs and help them locate the career path that suits them but it doesn't get your creative juices flowing in the same way that jewelry making does! I love everything about making jewelry, from getting inspiration from the most random of things - looking at butterflies and flowers, architecture or the way the peel comes off an orange if you do it in one go with a sharp knife! - to making and finishing a piece that someone is going to feel special wearing. I have been lucky enough to have been taught by two really inspiring teachers who have encouraged me to go with my instincts and find my 'voice'.
