Paper Marbling is an ancient art of painting on an aqueous base. The colors are dropped on to the water surface using whisks and are manipulated with rakes and combs to create intricate designs, which are then transferred onto paper.
Marbled papers are traditionally made for bookbinding, but are excellent for a wide range of other paper crafts. Art on Water papers are characterized by their vibrant colours and detailed patterns. I also make marbled leather, which I hand-bound into one-of-a-kind leather journals.
I am a self-taught paper marbler, with a formal education in graphic design. I learned to marble mainly through books and a lot of experimentation. My inspiration comes from all aspects of design, such as packaging, fashion and advertising.
