What you see at studioRenee is about 10% of what's running around in my mind. I find things that inspire me and drive me to create everywhere and everyday, and creating is my passion. I've been drawing, painting, constructing, and sculpting since the tender age of three, and have been fortunate enough to have the support and encouragement of family and friends every step of the way. I've explored a number of different mediums, and my repertoire continues to grow, because of my ongoing curiosity for the world and everything in it. Because of my love of so many different forms of expression, I always have numerous new projects in progress, all at the same time, each being lovingly nurtured towards becoming the fruition of the visions in my head.

Some of my favorite mediums are oil, acrylic, and watercolor, and I do a lot of work in papier mache. I like incorporating recycled materials into my work, so I often do paintings on rescued wood, and have created a line of papier mache objects called "everyday mache". The everyday mache collection is, of course, comprised of recycled paper. I love the challenge of whipping paper into shapes I design, and finishing it to look like other materials, such as wood, stone, metal. I get a kick out of fooling people with my pieces. I also get bit by the "jewelry bug" long enough to put the paintbrush down and get expressive with shapes, colors, and textures that can be worn.

I would really like to inspire people to find something they can't live without, (such as creating art) and focus on it long enough to make it their own gift back to the world.
