Having always had the temperament of an artist, I traveled a long journey to fulfill this inclination. In 1991 I landed on the steamy shores of a glass blowing studio, and have been under the spell of the hot stuff ever since. With my husband Ken, I built my own studio on Mount Desert Island, Maine in 1997. My beads are very dear to me, I've spent years designing and creating them. I love the idea of being a part of such a long history! ---The first items made from glass, some 5000 years ago were beads! Hard to imagine you could add to that tradition in an original way but I am happy to say that is exactly what we've done. I spent my first years as a glass blower learning traditional venetian techniques so I could later put my own spin on things. Now with the help of my team, in my own studio, I can make these FROSTY colorful, swirly blown glass beads.
