Hello! My name is Atsu. All of my pieces are lovingly hand-sewn from materials gathered here and in my homeland. I have grown up surrounded by the vibrant designs of kimono textiles. My mother constantly sewed and taught me how to match colour and pattern from an early age. My father’s family were deeply involved in kimono, leading back to my great-grandfather, who was head of the original Daimaru kimono department in Osaka.

Since having children and settling in South Gippsland I have begun assembling the many pieces I have collected from obscure temple markets and elsewhere. My accessories provide fresh, unusual colour combinations that can radicalise even the plainest outfit!
