There once was a girl who loved to make things, but as she grew older she lost her way. Until she realized how much she missed the color & shapes, the play & experimentation. And so she picked her paints & brushes back up & started to make things again.

I tend to use very bright & saturated colors in my artwork, I think because it portrays all the strength that I struggle to express in other ways. There is usually some sort of malevolent darkness hidden behind that brightness, maybe because I'm searching for a way to reconcile the beauty of the world with all truly bad things that also exist right alongside that goodness.

I've always loved art, even though my earliest passions were more in the realm of craft: cross-stitch, crochet, playing with clay.... Much as I tried to ignore the calling, I've always known that I would rather be making things than sitting in an office or doing any of those other "real jobs". The urge to make art & paint kind of snuck up on me, as I grew older and found that I actually had something to "say" with the medium. And my work is still very much in the evolutionary stage; what I feel compelled to create is changing greatly from one year to the next as different things are on my mind, and as my skills keep growing.

If I had all the time in the world, I would spend my days painting, sculpting, sewing, crafting, traveling the world, and enjoying other peoples' art (music, movies, museums, etc.). I can’t imagine what life would be like without all these wondrous forms of expression to enjoy.

My art and this store are my outlet from the daily grind. I’m also on etsy with an infrequent buyer account at littleblondegirl.etsy.com
