About

Over the years, I explored interests in photography and watercolor and spent a lot of my free time traveling around the country capturing the beauty of our great land. And then a few years ago, I became intrigued with jewelry design and it has truly changed my life.

I am a self-taught artisan, learning my skills and techniques from books, websites and (mostly) trial and error. I love twisting, wrapping, etching, sawing, and stamping. I came up with my shop name, A Twist of Whimsy, because I like designing fun and whimsical pieces and, well, "twisting" is part of the process. I can't describe how rewarding it is to design and create something that is appreciated by others.

I love all styles of jewelry...from contemporary to rustic, from classic to bohemian, from vintage repurposed to vintage inspired. I enjoy working in copper most but also like sterling silver and brass. I've collected vintage jewelry, religious medals, antique hardware and other vintage pieces that I love playing with to make something unique and inspirational.

Thank you for visiting my little Etsy shop. Please feel free to ask questions about my designs...I love communicating with my customers!

Blessings,
Gayle
