A long time ago, when I was very little, a terrible thing happened. My grandmother threw out all my great Aunt Carrie's steamer trunks full of hats, clothing, linens and laces. I kept telling her it was a big mistake, but she wouldn't listen. (Hence the name, Aunt Carrie's Attic). Ever since then I've been collecting and restoring each vintage piece I find, no matter how small or tattered.
I use the finest, most delicate or unusual pieces to create one-of-a-kind shawls, capes, ponchos, scarves, and a few other things I think reflect the beauty of times past. It's an honor for me to give new life to these pieces that were so carefully stitched, crocheted, or embroidered.
