I received my BFA in painting and sculpture at the College for Creative Studies and completed my MFA at Wayne State University. Since then, Detroit has been the place I call home. I make work from a variety of materials, usually taking the form of sculptural books, portraits, or memorial work that incorporate painting and drawing.

Alongside that, I also do more traditional forms of painting and drawing in order to one, practice my craft; and two, to work out ideas and imagery in a more immediate format.

I like to make work with a whimsical element. Here are few things that inspire me:
- early children's book illustrations
- William Nicholson's 'The Square Book of Animals'
- old game imagery
- Mexican Loteria (bingo) cards…
