About

I began playing the violin at the age of eleven. I went on to receive a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, but I felt like it wasn’t a good fit. So after college, I worked as an office assistant at Christian Eggert Violins.
I am a graduate of The Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City. While attending violin making school, I worked as an assistant violin maker for John Moroz, of Moroz Violins. A position at Pasewicz String Instrument opened up and my husband and I did a big cross country move to North Carolina so I could study bow restoration and making from Jerry Pasewicz.
I started AzureViolins.com so people could learn about my high-quality, affordable, handmade instruments, what goes into making and restoring, and hopefully fall in love with one of them.
