About

I’m a poor college student with three more semesters left, living in my grandparents basement and waitressing at an upscale restaurant 4-5 nights a week. As such I’m currently doing my jewelry craftiness on the cheap, but soon I will begin my foray into gemstones and sterling silver. In the meantime please buy my fun, cheap earrings for yourself, and for all the fun ladies in your life.

I have been collecting beads for a while and just recently started seriously making anything with them. I love to find fabulous necklaces at Goodwill and take them apart for all the glorious beads. That’s so much better than buying beads at the store ☺.

My tie dye is my personal trademark, I wear it almost constantly when I’m not in my black & white work duds. I love the comfort and cuteness of the tie dye beaters (tanks), the fabulous uniqueness of the thrifted/d…

I’m a poor college student with three more semesters left, living in my grandparents basement and waitressing at an upscale restaurant 4-5 nights a week. As such I’m currently doing my jewelry craftiness on the cheap, but soon I will begin my foray into gemstones and sterling silver.

I love the comfort and cuteness of the tie dye beaters (tanks), the fabulous uniqueness of the thrifted/dyed items and the gift give-ability of the onesies and undies!

Creativity is sometimes a stretch for me, but it is ultimately very rewarding/enjoyable. I don’t like to be idle, so relax time for me is sitting down with something crafty to make and a DVD (preferably a documentary or a chick flick) on my computer. Being creative also pushes my buttons and stretches me to not be such a crazy, organized, control-freak. Example: when I tie-dye it’s sometimes a three day process, the day I tie my clothing I’m neutral, I just try to be creative and unique with it, the day I dye it I’m a stress-ball, nervous about every accidental drip and strange color combination, but the day I rinse is always glorious. I get so excited seeing how the patterns turned out, or how the colors mingled. That’s the day it’s all worth it.

Important facts about me:
1. I’m a Christian, I thank God that I’m blessed with the resources I have to make pretty things for myself, for my family/friends, and hopefully the Etsy community will like my stuff too!
2. I’m very close with my family. My parents just moved to Argentina to serve God there and I miss them terribly. My mom was my fellow crafter extraordinaire and my dad was my handy tool supplier/fix-anything-guy. Hopefully we’ll be video Skyping soon.
3. Besides tie dye and jewelry I also like interior design and food.
4. My boyfriend is a musician, the one area of the arts I never went crazy about. I played the piano and cello, but never obsessed over music. He is teaching me the error of my ways.
5. I am a communications major. I picked it because it’s all the things I enjoy; people, writing, some design, marketing, planning… I have no idea where it will lead me though.
6. I always have a long mental list of projects and things I want to buy. Currently I have refinishing a table/chair set, going to the eye doctor so I can get more contacts, finding the right wall art for my living room and dining room and having my friends over for a back-to-school breakfast.
7. I want to travel for the rest of my life. So far I’ve been to Uganda twice (once for a year, once for three weeks), Ireland twice, Spanish Wells, Bahamas twice and Argentina, plus a smattering of other places for a day or two and several trips within the U.S.
8. I love the theatre! I love going, I love participating, I love it all. I’ve been on stage as the chorus and onstage as the lead. I’ve been backstage and I’ve been in the light booth. I’ve helped clean, paint, organize, usher, and promote.
9. I’m feeling like this is getting way too long.
10. TV shows on DVD has changed my life, haha! I much prefer watching TV shows in longer settings than waiting week to week, maybe it’s a control thing.
