About

My grandmother's nickname for me as a little girl was Jecka. I was also obsessed with flowers at a very young age, or so it is logged by my mother in my baby book. Looking back, I recall shoving daisies behind my ear whenever possible, as well as making tons of dandelion mud pies with my best friend, Kimmy. There were even numerous occasions where I managed to bring home some pretty fancy bouquets that more than likely belonged to a neighbor's prized flower garden. It wasn't until my twenties that I finally realized it would be wise to actually purchase them from a market instead of spontaneously pulling over to the breakdown lane of busy highways to collect beautiful wild flowers that I thought would look better in a vase on the kitchen counter in my apartment.

Now a little older and a lot wiser, I still light up whenever I see a pretty flower. About two years ago a little girl named Giada inspired me to start these creations. She was a baby visiting the office I work in and she was wearing an adorable infant hat with a huge bloom on top. At that moment, I had to have a hat like it. But what would I do with it once I had it? I didn't have a baby girl of my own and all of my friends were having boys. I obsessed over the hat until my husband finally encouraged me to craft my own. I started giving them as gifts and then friends and family began to follow suit, placing order after order. Now, thanks to ETSY, all of my flower accessories are available to you. My intention is for each Baby Jecka creation to inspire the carefree feeling of summer through a child's eye all year long for all who gaze upon it.
