I am a stay-at-home-mom to 3 children and the proud wife of a hard working farmer. We have a family farm in the Texas Panhandle that has been in our family for over 100 years. I taught myself to sew about 6 years ago out of necessity to mend clothing and make curtains for our home. Then, I started making all kinds of things for the new baby we were expecting and gifts for family and friends. After that, it became my therapy, the thing I do in my quiet time that's just for me. My love of making things goes back to my childhood and hours spent with my beloved grandmother, who was always making beautiful dresses and handmade dolls for her granddaughters, painting little stools and chairs and trying her hand at making whatever thing was the current trend in handmade items (some terrible fringed, pony bead and concho embellished bandanas come to mind).
