Suzi Moran's Profile

About

As a child I was Susie, then I "supposedly" grew up and became Susan, when I turned 40 I decided to regress and since then I am known as Suzi. I realized that the people who loved me most liked to use that name and so should I.

I also married for the first time at 40 and my husband is a self proclaimed "Peter Pan" and since I did not want to be his "Wendy" I decided to be a "Lost Girl" instead and never grow up.

I work in an office with no outlet for creativity and dream up designs on my breaks and lunch time and then rush home to figure out how to put them together. I have books and magazines with patterns, but since I have an aversion to patterns (more like I don't understand them when I read them) I just use them for inspiration.

Currently I am trying to sell my house and property on the Oregon Coast so I can move on to sunnier shores. Until then we make the most of of the sunny days we get and try to keep an upbeat attitude on the grey days. Jock the German Shorthaire dog and Rascal the blue eyed siamese/mixed former barn cat keep us entertained and provide companionship.

I have been sewing and making my own designs since I was 9 years old. I started with Barbie clothes and have since graduated to purses and handbags.

I search thrift stores, tag sales, estate auctions and online for funky, quirky and one of a kind textiles from skirts, dresses, coats, jeans, curtains and blankets to turn into unique bags, purses and accessories. I consider this a great way to reuse, recycle and "up-cycle" materials into new items that make a vintage, retro, funky and fun fashion statements.
