About

Welcome to Bead Booty! I'm Tricia, a stay at home Mom who creates unique jewelry that's fun to wear...this is my hobby.

I'd been playing with beads & making jewelry for about 20 years when I stumbled upon darbygirl's Etsy shop one day (darbygirl.etsy.com). I'd never heard of Etsy before so I did some research & decided to give it a try. But what would I call my shop?

At the time I joined Etsy my son was 5 yrs. old & really into pirates. As a result of his obsession he was introduced to the piratey term "booty" which became very popular around our house. So as I began to contemplate my shop name the word "booty" just kind of crept into my subconscious & thus Bead Booty was born. It's totally fun to say...Bead Booty. Go ahead, just try to say it without smiling!

My designs begin as ideas born from materials I fall in love with. If I find a bead or a swatch of leather or even a color that I'm drawn to I will create a piece of jewelry around it. I very rarely get a picture in my mind of a finished piece that drives my creativity. I start at a component & go from there. So I never know where I'm going until I arrive. It's a fun & exciting process!

I hope you'll check in from time to time to see what I'm working on. I'm always learning new techniques & searching out fresh materials. As a result most of my pieces are one of a kind. And I'm totally convo friendly...I love to talk. So don't hesitate to ask lots of questions.
