About

BeadPirates is a family collective, with everyone in the house on board full-time. I personally have been enjoying making jewelry as a hobby for 8 years, with the guys becoming more and more involved over the last 2 years.

It makes me very happy to create, and thankfully, the act of creating provided a life raft that kept me afloat during the unexpected unraveling and failure of my 15+ year marriage in 2005. My son and my craft provided beacons of light and hope during that very dark and confusing time.

Things have certainly have changed, and a new path and direction was revealed for me. Throughout it all, I continued to design and create jewelry, and my son began showing a stronger interest too. Family and friends had long been using their birthdays and other occasions to "blackmail" us into creating a special piece or set for them. This has led to a wonderful circle…

This has led to a wonderful circle of testers, critics, and cheerleaders.

When I made the decision to try crafting as a full time business venture, I was delighted to find that both my son and fiance (part of that "new path" revealed....) were not only supportive, but interested in full participation! I couldn't have asked for a better situation. BeadPirates public debut had to be delayed, while they acquired the additional knowledge and skills needed to fully participate. It was great to see how the skills they all ready possessed could be utilized, and it was also exciting to watch them learn, grow and come to enjoy doing something that makes me so happy.

Most pieces now have contributions from all 3 of us, and I have found that those contributions greatly add to the item's appeal. Quality Control immediately rose to a higher level, as each item must now gain the approval of all 3 of us, or be sent back to the drawing board. Greg discovered a creative side that he had only scratched the surface of prior to joining our collective, and we definitely found our star photographer in my son, Kevin. 99% of the photos you see are his work.

So that's our story, and we are finally ready to bring you our collection. Many designs are currently undergoing their final testing to ensure we bring the best version of it to our shop .We will be posting a few items a week, as they each pass their testing. We are excited and proud to make our offering through Etsy, and strive to maintain quality standards that make the Etsy community proud to have us.

The three of us hope you like what we have to offer, and always welcome any questions, comments or suggestions you may have.

Send us an etsy convo, look for us on facebook, or send us an e-mail at info [!at] beadpirates.net. We would love to hear from you.
