About

Not too long ago I came across some colorful knot cufflinks of mine. My two daughters were curious as to what these round textured balls were used for. I told them they were hair accessories for sailors since they were too young to understand what they were really used for, not to mention the fact that sailors were mostly men back in the day, but that's beside the point. I told them sailors called them monkey's fist knots. From then on whenever the girls wanted me to style their hair with my old cufflinks they asked for “Knotty Monkeys”.

I thought to myself what a great idea (the knotty monkeys part of course) and that was the start of my adventure designing whimsical accessories and clothing inspired by a pair of old cufflinks, curiosity, and the imagination of children.
