The Start of Bestdoilies and Craft

I started Bestdoilies and Craft in January of 2004. I was planning on retiring when I turned 55 and thought this would be a great way to keep myself busy and have a little spending money and my husband told me I either had to start selling the items I make or stop making them. So I guess in a way I can thank my husband for part of the success of my craft business I may not have started my craft business without a push from him. I first started selling at craft shows only and amazed myself at how well I did with the items that I make. I learned fast that I needed a large selection and lots of inventory and my craft show sales have increased every year. Then I expanded to online sales and this lets me add my love of working on a computer with my love for crocheting and sewing and I have sold items all over the world. Selling online is a lot…

Selling online is a lot harder then selling at craft shows because your customers can't pickup your item and see first hand that they are all made with care and how nice they really are and you also have a lot more competition. I try real hard to hold my prices down for my customers but that is getting harder and harder with supply costs, the cost of booth space at a craft shows increasing, shipping costs and online costs always going up. I also want to please all my customers and want them to be happy with the items they purchase from me. I make everything as if I would be using these items in my own home. I use quality fabric and materials and make everthing with care and give you a high quality product at a fare price. I only have a small amount of my inventory listed online as my sales grow I hope I can list more items. If you are looking for something special please let me know. I make adult aprons, kids aprons, magic wallets, checkbook covers, paperback book covers, crocheted doilies, crocheted tablerunners, crocheted kitchen towels, crocheted butterfly magnets, 4 different scrubbies, clothes pin bag holders, keep cool neckbands, snuggle blankets for kids and much more so if you don't see what you are looking for let me know if I can find a pattern I will make it for you.

Update
Well I finally retired on October 1, 2007 and loving every minute of retirement. It is great just to have more time for my crafts and to do the things I love. Crocheting is still my first love and something I really enjoy and get a lot of pleasure from making my items not much pay for the hours it takes but a lot of pleasure with the results. My nephew tells me I should join crocheters anonymous because I spend every spare minute crocheting but crocheting is something I would never give up doing. I hope you enjoy the items you purchase from me or just looking in my online store and hope you visit often to see what's new.

Thank You Georgia
