Just a girl with a torch that loves to make glass lampwork beads!

I make glass beads by melting glass rods with a torch and winding the molten glass around a mandrel. I sometimes shape beads in the flame using graphite or brass tools. Designs such as dots and stripes are added with glass stringers (hand pulled strings of glass) or twisties (different colors of glass that are twisted and pulled together into a stringer).

Quite by accident my focus has become Pet Memorial Beads. About

After being asked by my best friend to make Memorial Beads for her using cremation remains I decided to start offering Pet Memorial Beads in my Etsy shop. These beads are made by encasing the cremation ashes of a pet within the glass. The beads turn out just beautiful and hold special meaning for my pet owner customers. As an artist it is very rewarding to be able to share my craft in such a special way with my customers.

All of my glass lampwork beads are handmade one by one by me in the flame of my minor torch using Moretti, TAG104 and Double Helix glass rods. My beads are annealed in a digitally controlled kiln and then dremel cleaned to remove excess bead release from their holes. I am a self-representing artist and a member of SRA. My SRA membership number is S106.
