About

Hello, and welcome to Beyond Her! As the chief "her," I am a freelance writer and artist in Houston -- a long-ago graduate who majored in English and art. While working in marketing communications and raising a family, I continued to dabble in quick sketches and an assortment of crafts, which evolved into the Beyond Her collection.

As a true believer in "beauty is where you find it," I use nature and simple domestic objects as my inspiration. My real passion is creating products that people look forward to seeing in their kitchens and closets, on their desks and in their drawers. My goal is creating, “Art for Living.”

I started producing the Beyond Her Art for Every Day calendar and note cards in 1999. Today the Beyond Her collection is an expanding universe of paper, textile and ceramic products, all built around high quality, natural materials, green processes, and good design.

The name Beyond Her is drawn from a favorite phrase, “It’s beyond me” – my honest reaction to the quirks of modern living. It also means taking a view that goes above and beyond.

I hope that you enjoy looking around my shop -- and that you see the pleasure in "Art for Living."
