Over 25 years combined experience as husband and wife team designing, hand making and restoring jewelry, yet it feels like our aesthetic journey is at the beginning. So instead of one or two collections, you will find a wide range of jewelry we are inspired to create, including fine platinum and gold, some with diamonds and gemstones, to fine and sterling silver, mixed media and even antique and vintage glass.

An honor to be interviewed by CPTV - - the PBS tv station in Hartford, CT. And Connecticut Magazine featured our work online. Links to check this out are located on our blog at

We check for messages, and we'd love to hear from you! If you would like a piece that sold or you would like a different texture or metal or other stones or different dimensions, contact us! Most can be made again and/or customized.

See custom pieces not shown here, and find out about giveaways, secret sales and more, which are sometimes referred to as "rare gems"!

Please note prices may change on some of our pieces due to the fluctuating metals market.

:: We're very interested in old, broken, and unwanted jewelry ::

After learning about the unfair and environmentally damaging practices used to mine new gold, metals and precious stones, and for many years now, we use fairly-traded stones and reclaimed and refined materials and metals whenever possible in our work.
That's why we are looking for:

- Damaged chains
- Rings with the stones missing
- Unmatched earrings
- Old high school or wedding rings, inherited and gathering dust
- Broken gold filled watches
- Anything else you may no longer want or need!

If it is sterling silver, 10 karat gold or higher or platinum, we are interested!

Please send a description or photo. Sometimes we do repurpose stones, having them polished or recut, but at the present time we're primarily looking for pieces to melt, so this would not include anything you feel is worth more as finished jewelry. You can accept or decline our offer. Either way, we appreciate the opportunity, but we do reserve the right to refuse purchasing your jewelry. Get in touch if you have any questions. Transactions must take place through Etsy. Please contact us for details. Thank you!

When you select jewelry from us, you are choosing made (or restored) by hand over made by machine. Not only have you encouraged us, but you also encourage all independent artists and designers.

Please check the information listed in the description of the piece(s) you are purchasing, and review our “shop policies” here. If you have any questions at all, please send a message by clicking "contact", located on the left sidebar.

For any piece you plan to purchase from Beyond the Rockz, a full appraisal by an American Gem Society-certified appraiser is available upon request. This professional appraisal will be USPAP compliant, which means it will follow the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and respective appraiser’s Ten Commandments for assuring ethical conduct in appraising, which includes a careful evaluation followed by the necessary research to estimate an accurate appraisal. Please note this is a professional service, requiring additional time and a non-refundable added fee. For details, send a message with your request.

The shipping address we use is your PayPal shipping address, so please make sure it is correct.

Though unlikely to happen, if you do encounter any problem with the checkout system, click this link for a step by step guide to the Etsy checkout process:

Or feel free to contact us so that we can help you.

Payments are accepted via PayPal as well as credit cards through the PayPal system for those with and without a PayPal account. Send a message for details on payment by money order, if this is your preference. And if you would like more info on the possibility of setting up a Payment Plan, please send a message.

Payment is expected within three days of your online purchase, and your jewelry is shipped after full payment has cleared (monies received into our account) and within 2 to 3 business days of that time, excluding weekends and holidays. However, please note that if a piece is being made to order or if a ring requires sizing work, for example, additional time to do this is specified under the description and is in addition to timing specified here. Unfortunately, we cannot ship to unconfirmed addresses or P.O. Boxes, and if confirmation of address cannot be provided, we must reserve the right to cancel the sale. Because of sales tax laws, there will be sales tax added in PayPal if you live in Connecticut or Massachusetts.

We automatically insure, at no additional cost, any piece of jewelry that is $100 or more. In the unlikely event a correctly-addressed package is lost, please note Etsy does not hold sellers responsible for postal errors, but we will do all we can to help locate your package, handling on a case-by-case basis. If your purchase is under $100, insurance can be purchased at cost - - just send us a note with your request.

We find it exciting that our handmade jewelry is purchased worldwide, but we want to make sure shipping is according to the rules for your country, the cost options are accurate and that you have chosen the shipping option you prefer. With this in mind and before making your purchase, please contact us with your postal code so that we can provide you with options and then finalize your shipping choice. Please note the only shipping address we use for international shipping is your PayPal shipping address. Depending on the jewelry you purchase, pieces mailed First Class International Mail can cost as little as $3 USD to Canada and as much as $12 USD to Australia, Japan and China. Once your package is mailed by way of First Class International, it takes approximately two weeks* to reach its destination, many times sooner, but timing is not guaranteed. We are happy to provide additional shipping options (Priority, Express Mail International, etc.) and services (insurance for pieces under $100, registered, etc.), so you can decide what is best for you. Please note we are not responsible for any taxes, duties, customs or other fees that may be added when your package arrives, and we do fill out customs forms honestly.

Please review the information here (cut & paste links into your browser) that corresponds to the materials in the handmade piece from us you are considering before making your purchase. If you have a specific question not addressed or you prefer that we write you about care instructions instead of going to these links, contact us any time. We check messages every day to respond as soon as possible.

Jeweler's of America information and caring of gemstones

Cultured Pearl Association of America information on care of pearls
-->Note: Pearls are organic and in an oyster they are impervious to water, but once drilled and put on a peg (like Beauty Cultivated) they are susceptible to moisture so immersing in water should be avoided.

Gemological Institute of America information on turquoise

Diamond Council of America diamond care instructions -
"Even though it is the most durable of gemstones, care should be taken to protect a diamond from sharp blows. To clean, you may use jewelry cleaner, lukewarm soapy water and a small bristle brush, soak in a half-and-half solution of cold water and ammonia for 1/2 an hour, or a home ultrasonic machine with its recommended cleaner." -

Diamond Council of America information on moissanite

Sterling Silver
This precious metal will likely require cleaning to remove tarnish and dullness on occasion. One way is to gently rub with a soft cloth and a small amount of silver polish, rinsing thoroughly with warm water and then carefully and completely drying. Another option is to make a paste of baking soda and water and use that in place of the silver polish. As much as possible try to avoid bleach and chlorine, which do accelerate tarnishing.

Mixed Media
The mixed media pieces made by Caroline are primarily comprised of plastics, including resin, which can damage more easily than metal jewelry, for example, and do require a little extra care. Detailed care instructions are included with each piece of mixed media jewelry. For a copy, please send a message with your request.
