I have been a basket maker for 30 years with work now in the permanent collections of numerous museums including the Smithsonian Museum of American Art and the Museum of Art and Design in New York. My highest honor came in 1997 when I was designated a North Carolina Living Treasure, the states highest award in the field of crafts.
My baskets are made as much to hold your interest as your objects. The dye process is two weeks with the material in the dyepot a week, then in a salt, vinegar, and water bath for another week to set the color.
