About

The username "BlackMidnight" has no dark significance. When I first found Etsy and wanted to ask a seller a question, I needed to sign in with a username. I put down the first thing that popped into my head which happened to be the name of a cat that I had when I was ten. Luckily, I did not use the full name which was Black Midnight Silhouette.

It seems I have been involved with the art process as far back as I can remember. My parents loved my Crayola creations. After I graduated from college with a degree in art, I worked in oils, black and white photography, three dimensional art, collage, book binding and now jewelry.

My paintings have been represented by a gallery in Dallas and one in New York. I have had one man shows of my photography in museums and galleries in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, London and Dublin. I published two books of photographs with The Viking Press. My jewelry is sold in two shops in California and in a gallery in San Miguel de Allende.

I have been a collector forever - of everything. I collect pewter, tea caddies, deer antlers, tortoise shell boxes, ivory (that was a long time ago - not any more), antique jewelry, calipers (such interesting shapes), rocks, shells. and other things. Flea markets, antique shops and estate sales are my recreation. So many of the things that I have stowed away eventually find their way into my necklaces.

My name is Lynn and I live in Dallas with my husband, who collects books, and our Australian Cattle Dog, who collects milk-bones and keeps them in her bed.
