I started writing zines before I knew what zines were. I just had something to say, and I'd always been intrigued with the idea of making my own book-like objects. My mom had a cheap, slow photocopier in the basement, and I liked to cut up magazines... I was kind of amazed when, a few years later, I discovered that other people made them too.

Even so, my zines have almost always been a solo effort. The zine entitled "blank the plague" did incorporate pieces from other contributors - most notably the incomparable m.i.d., without whom blank the plague would not exist. For the most part, though, my zines have been my own creation, something I do working furiously into the night against some imaginary and self-imposed deadline.

my old Royal Quiet DeLuxe rip, any kind of paper, very specific papers but many of them, very specific pens, very specific pencils, magazine pages for finding images and letters

As for the stories, I can't remember not writing stories. As a child I was always accused of being imaginative - and I do mean accused. Things came into my head, and I wrote them down and lived inside them, and they were as real as anything I could touch or see. Sometimes I miss that level of vividness.

In my heart I know that I will always write. Even if it is not what I do "for a living", it will always be what I do.
