About

I started crocheting at the very young age of 9 when I took an after-school class in 4th Grade. My first ball of yarn was neon orange so, after only a class or two, I was soon wearing a neon orange crocheted headband and a neon orange crocheted belt. I carried my Bonnie Belle lip balm around in, what else?, a neon orange crocheted purse. I was in 4th Grade fashion heaven!

I fell in love with crochet and began turning out more headbands and potholders than my family knew what to do with. I actually made my grandparents an afghan of brown and orange (again with the orange!) yarn that they kept on their gold velvet couch for many, many years.

In college, I crocheted in my dorm room and in law school, I crocheted in my tiny little apartment. Within a few years, I was married and had kids as did all of my friends so I began churning out baby blankets…

I started crocheting at the very young age of 9 when I took an after-school class in 4th Grade. My first ball of yarn was neon orange so, after only a class or two, I was soon wearing a neon orange crocheted headband and a neon orange crocheted belt.

Within a few years, I was married and had kids as did all of my friends so I began churning out baby blankets made from granny squares. (I really love granny squares and use them in a lot of my designs!) My own kids each have multiple versions of those blankets as I had to make sure everyone had all of their favorite colors in their blankets and the favorite colors kept changing.

Here in my blissthings shop, I'm crocheting things that I like, wear and use and I think others will like, wear and use too. All of my items are handmade just by me and many of them are made using my own designs so I get exactly the look and feel that I want. I'm always looking for new materials to work with - trendy colors, unusual textures, fabulous embellishments, environmentally friendly yarns - whatever I can find that looks exciting and fun.

I hope my creations are fun and trendy and make you feel like you are purchasing your own special, original, custom-made piece. Because you are!
