When I was a child, there was a delightful curling vine on the side of my house that had caterpillars on it every year. They were my favorite, and I looked forward to seeing them just when the weather would turn warm. The delicate, black spikes and scrunching bodies were so much fun to watch and touch. I loved holding them in my hand. Many a caterpillar ended up in glass jars in my room, holes carefully punched into tin lids, leaves and twigs thoughtfully added to keep my "pets" happy. I would anxiously wait for each caterpillar to spin a cocoon, hang upside down on a twig, and eventually, miraculously, gloriously hatch into beautiful monarch butterflies. Delicately they would stretch their fragile wings, and I knew it would soon be time to say goodbye to my special beauties. Their transformation was now complete. They had been reborn into another life, completely different, changed, and yet still the same scrunching caterpillar hidden somewhere deep inside. The mystery and mystique of these amazing creatures never grew old for me. After a short while, I would open the lid and let my "pet" fly away free into the wild blue sky. Part joy, part sorrow...I knew each butterfly would continue their journey on to another place and time. Part of me always wished I could be a butterfly too.

I also loved rocks as a child (and still do), and enjoyed spending hours collecting and labeling my specimens. The more the merrier! You can see my love of rocks still present in all of my gemstone rings. :D

In addition I am a stay at home mommy of two wonderful children, am married, have a degree in Psychology, and love to read Paranormal Romantic Fiction in my free time.

--> Most of my store is now made-to-order, which means that your item will be specially created after you order it. Each item is carefully crafted by myself and is completely unique! Made-to-order items generally take about a week to complete, although I always try to get them out quicker than that if my schedule (and 2 year old toddler son) permits. =D
