Nichole's Profile

About

My name is Nichole McVeigh and I've been making accessories for about 15 years now, but started working with glass about 10 years ago. I absolutely love it! I wish everyone could work with glass at least once. It's amazing to put 'raw' glass into the kiln - fire it - and then see the finished product. The variety of glass is amazing, also.

I use glass that comes with beautiful patterns already, but I also like to make my own patterns. I'm especially interested in stripes. It takes a while to make pieces with stripes, but the end result is very unique.

I still enjoy making accessories with a variety of materials; not just glass. I work with crystals (mainly Swarovski), freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones, mother of pearl and vintage beads. I have a definite interest in architecture and I am inspired much by artist Mark Rothko's works. I also find inspiration from small things around me and I try to pay attention to everything. Music & poetic writing are other loves of mine and areas from which I draw ideas.

My husband, Dole, has been a huge help. He does all the photography for my site and is my steady support system. I've had a lot of support from my family and friends. I love and appreciate them all. Thank you!
