Leanne Stock's Profile

About

I'm obsessed with plastic bottles. I snatch them up on the side of the road, in empty shopping carts, out of garbage cans. I will stare at perfect strangers until they are finished with their soda and awkwardly ask for their empty bottle. My friends leave bags and bags of empty bottles on my doorstep. During the Seattle Walk for a Cure each participate was given a cold, water bottle that was PINK!!! I was in heaven and hell! I only had a tiny back pack and stuffed as many empty bottles that I could fit inside. Later, during an airplane flight I wanted to grab each mini vodka, gin, and rum bottle and stuff it in my purse. Three golf courses have a special bin for the used bottles and save them for me. Are you finished with your diet coke now? Can I have your bottle now? Pretty please???

I'm obsessed with plastic bottles. I snatch them up on the side of the road, in empty shopping carts, out of garbage cans. I will stare at perfect strangers until they are finished with their soda and awkwardly ask for their empty bottle. My friends leave bags and bags of empty bottles on my doorstep. Three golf courses have a special bin for the used bottles and save them for me. Are you finished with your diet coke now? Can I have your bottle now? Pretty please???

This colorful array of intricate and unusually beautiful flowers that resemble blown art glass are actually made from empty plastic water bottles, juice, creamer and soda pop bottles. *** These recycled art flowers have been featured in Redesign Revolution, Bombay Outdoors, Green Craft Magazine, Cottage Journal, Art Without Waste and a novel, "Material Girls" *** Look for the upcoming October issue of ReLoved magazine available at Barnes and Nobel.

Most of the entire bottle is used in my art, even the lids are donated to Aveda, a company that built a recycling program for plastic bottle caps. I also create colorful, vivid abstract art using my plastic bottle flower photography, check out fineamericaart and type Leanne Stock in the search bar.

I work alone and occasionally my sweet kitty sits next to me swiping a stray bead or wire. As a passionate animal lover and rescuer of homeless animals I donate a portion of my sales to the Foothills Animal Rescue (a no cage, no kill shelter where sweet cats and dogs wait their chance to be adopted,)
