About

For most of my life, I have had the pleasure of living in old rambling farmhouses or cabins in the woods. I love the simple life. On any given day, you can find me in the garden, out hunting for antiques, smelling wild flowers, hiking with my dog, reading while sitting on my swing, bird watching, or lying on my back in tall grass watching the clouds change shapes.

OK-that is my IDEAL life-reality is little more hectic, as I work fulltime, participate in several craft/antique shows and vend at the fabulous Parker Farmer's Market every Sunday from May thru October. My precious grandtwins live with me, so anything resembling "free time" is devoted to them.

I started collecting antiques to decorate my home because I loved the homey feel they provided. My mom never liked antiques so she gave everything a fresh paint of coat or threw it out. The fish cleaning table my Dad used at our cabins was a fabulous antique cabinet with a marble top. I used to tell my mom..in the big city, that would sell for big bucks, and we would have a good laugh. I tend to pick items that remind me of my childhood, or that just have a great "energy". I grew up in NW Ontario, and Northern Minnesota and as much as I love Colorado, my soul still belongs to the Great White North, and its tall timber.

As a Biologist, I feel responsible for protecting the resources of our beautiful planet. Decorating with antiques are a great way to recycle and re-use!! In our home we USE antique quilts as they were intended and every item in my home has a story. That said my kids plan to have a HUGE sale, or bonfire once I leave this life. Please feel free to challenge me to find that special item about which you have been dreaming. I love the "hunt".
