About

Hi, and welcome to my world. My name is Cara Sue hence the nick name "Carat Soup". I am a self-taught artist, born in Corvallis, Oregon yet raised primarily in Wickenburg Az. My mom once told me I took to art as soon as I was able to hold a crayon. Throughout my childhood I developed an appreciation for three-dimensional sculptures and portrait drawings. In grade school I entered every art competition I could, winning many 1st place ribbons. In 1989 I began dabbling in porcelain doll making to once again winning many 1st place ribbons and in 1997 I won Best of Show for the State of Az. In 2004 I was invited to paint two murals for the Lennar Home Builders "Home For The Holidays Charity". What a wonderful experience and opportunity!

As an imaginative sculptor, potter, muralist, illustrator, photographer and graphic artist, I am driven by an incredible passion for self-expression through art. My work is often noted for it's unique quirky style, elegance, and technique. My use of colors and strong lines make my work an excellent choice for a wide range of projects and purposes. I am accomplished in using traditional methods as well as modern technique.
I have also written, illustrated and published my own children's book
"T-Bob Finds a Friend" available here on Etsy and Amazon.com.

I have been married 29 years(and still counting) to my high school sweetheart Jim. We raised two amazing daughters, Becky and Keri. We have two son-in-laws, Mike and Mike which does get a little confusing, and six creative, goofy. fun loving grandchildren.

LIFE IS GOOD!
