Carmen Richards Melton's Profile

About

I look at the world around me as shapes – forms of color and light. I am captivated with the movement of light across an object, giving it luster and definition. This is why I don’t do only portraits, only figures, florals, landscapes or abstracts. This is why I play around with different materials and new ideas every day. Mostly I just want to explore more, to see what happens if I try this, or that. Not being concerned so much about whether it is perceived as great, or has some hidden meaning (though often it does), or how many mistakes lead to the something wonderful, but simply being in the moment of the creative process and finding joy in that. To see the full range of my work, such as larger and commissioned pieces not for sale on Etsy, please visit www.carmenmelton.com. Thanks, and enJOY!
