About

Those who know me well might say that I have a borderline obsession with collecting curious objects. From discarded vintage doll heads, arms, and legs to random found metal, glass and paper clippings, I love the real life organic qualities that these objects possess. To me, they are tangible bits of history that have touched many lives before they entered mine. I often muse on the story of their comings and goings, making up little scenarios that fit each piece. Not only do I collect curiosities, I also curate vintage fashions for my other Etsy shop, Pepperfield’s. I admit it! I am a bit of a clothes horse, and shoes are my greatest weakness; I have way too many for my own good.

While I have an unnatural affinity for collecting curious objects and clothing, I also have a deep love for all things Blythe. After I acquired my first girl in 2007, I was hooked. I first began to dabble in dress making, and then moved on to re-rooting, carving and, well, Blythe is now a huge part of my life. In the last few years I began infusing my organic vintage style and pieces into my work with my dolls and have since found that there is nothing better than my petite muse to achieve the perfect combination of sweet and epoch with a splash of whimsy. Blythe is a muse that can incorporate all of my artist inclinations into one unique piece of art. She is the quintessential canvas for my fiber art, knitting, jewelry making and sewing skills. Cupcake Curio is a place for me to share my musing on Blythe and any other idea that might strike my fancy. I hope you enjoy my pieces as much as I have enjoyed making them.

XoXo,

Casey
