I grew up on a horse farm in Ohio in a household that valued art. My father is an architect, so I began drawing with him as soon as I could hold a drawing tool in my hand. I have been involved in art classes, organizations, and competitions since grade school. I chose the name Catbird Seat Studio for two reasons. The first, I did a lot of my graduate research on the Gray Catbird, a wonderful, quirky bird. The second, the phrase "sitting in the catbird seat" means you are sitting pretty or in a good place. This probably originated from observations that catbirds sit in the highest places in their territory to sing. I feel I am working towards that good place! I look forward to the challenge of tackling new projects and ideas.
