Little B. (the profile pic) and I love to make all sorts of things, especially jewelry! We hope to be making parrot toys in the near future too!
All my feathers go through a very selective picking process before they are made into jewelery. I wont use damaged or broken feathers and obtaining my feathers from happy birds greatly decreases the occurrences of stress bars or weather damage.
We support many small family farms where the feathers are collected after the birds go through their natural molting process each year or just daily feather shedding. We support many small family farms where the feathers are collected after the birds go through their natural molting process each year or just daily feather shedding. Some of my feathers have come from companion birds and parrots that are in happy homes. Although most of my feathers come from an Avian Sanctuary and breeder in Pensacola, Florida. The Parrots and other bird's feathers are hand collected and sold by their loving caretaker. They are cruelty free and absolutely resplendent. The money for the feathers goes to caring for the birds and building more outdoor aviary's and 20% of all my sales also goes to the Sanctuary.
I always use cruelty free feathers from sustainable resources. If you buy feathers and they don't specify that those particular feathers are cruelty free or molted then you know that those birds have been killed and de-feathered. Most all feathers that are sold in commercial stores are from birds that have been killed for one reason or another.
My feathers are all cleaned with antibacterial disinfectants and the hooks are thoroughly cleaned with peroxide as well, especially if they are modeled so you have a better idea of their size and fit.

If you have a favorite color I am willing to make any earrings to order, or if you have your own feathers, from your own birds or ones you've found I can also make whatever you would like from those as well. If you supply the feathers and supply a few extra for me your earrings are free.

Thanks a million for your interest in cruelty free feather jewelry!
We believe that birds shouldn't be killed for their feathers, because if you ask nicely they gift them to you, especially if you feed them!
