Mary McCall's Profile

About

I don't remember a time when I didn't have a needle of some kind in my hands. My most recent fiber love is wool - I love to take raw wool, fresh off the sheep, and spin it into yarn to be used for knitting, weaving or needlework. I dye wool and silk, sometimes before, sometimes after spinning.

I raise Angora rabbits on the beautiful Oregon Coast, carefully harvesting their superfine fluff for spinning, felting and dyeing projects every three months. It's been quite an adventure so far!

I am intrigued by all things vintage and believe in using what I have and reducing my footprint on this earth.

I also believe that an apron is empowering and try to wear one every day.
