About

As you can tell by my avatar (picture), I have a little rescue Eskie named Sneakers, who my world revolves around. He is one high maintenance puppy. He has severe allergies to dust mites and food.

On Saturdays when I'm off work, and after I "kinda" clean the house and give Sneakers his bath and brush his teeth, it's time to be creative. I raise perennial flowers, so I'm digging in the dirt and selling flowers in the spring, but in the evenings after work or when it's raining, and the rest of the year, I'm spinning yarn, making a few candles, painting, and crocheting. And selling the flowers, candles, glassware, ornaments, and scarves helps pay for all of Sneakers allergy medications, special food and shots. I save 10% off the top to help with medical needs of American Eskimo dogs being rescued. Gotta pay if forward…

I enjoy all of it, even if my house looks more like a workshop than a house. Gotta keep busy..gotta keep learning. And I'd rather stay home and spend time with my boy Sneakers any time than run around shopping.

Sneakers even helps me weed when he's not catching shrews. He's a busy feller.

I've been candling for around 7-8 years, made hundreds of candles, always one or two at a time and with absolute care, and try to come up with new ideas and change them constantly so they are more unique. I started painting my candles Feb 2009 spring and this evolved into glassware and ornaments. I have 2 bedrooms full of dried & pressed flowers, some of which I use for decorations on my candles.

Then I started spinning, mostly because I always wondered if I could make something out of all that eskie fur that Sneaker's sheds. But once I started, I was hooked. It'll take about a year to have enough yarn from Sneakers for a scarf, but in the meantime I've got pounds and pounds of wool, mohair, and alpaca from a local farm that I can spin and crochet. And since I've worked in the woodworking industry since I was 8 years old, I've come up with a top whorl spindle that really does a good job for me spinning.

I also enjoy photograhy and am a bit of a computer geek since the first "Radio Shack Trash 80s" came out in the late 70's, although I don't do hardware, and have been doing work in graphic design for years, and sometimes I get in a mood to write a song or two, also via computer.

And this year I've become active in Facebook Dog Rescue for the American Eskimos and Pomeranians.

I think I like being overly busy..never have enough time to do everything I want to do.

Although relatively new to Etsy, I have listed items on "the other site" since 2003, and have 100% positive rating. I wish they had a way to link up and look at seller ratings.

I want my site and products to be the best they can be... constructive criticism is always welcome .. and if you have an idea you want me to do, let me know..I'd love to make something just for you. My specialty is making products that accent your decor.
