Kathleen Howell's Profile

About

Since I was a little girl, I have been drawn to shapes and textures.

My father was president of the Disney Gem and Mineral Society, and we used to travel everywhere looking for mineral and rock beds such as opals, fossils, old ghost towns and Indian sites. As I grew older I became a make-up artist and stylist for films and commercials, which enabled me to travel the world.

I always came back to the same thing ... I love the unique, textures, the beauty of crumbled architecture, ruins, the beauty of old patinated rusty iron, exquisite lighting, and just the perfect frame. I am mesmerized by the beauty and intricacy of old laces (visit my store at www.etsy.com/shop/thelaceemporium), and , I need to have every piece of glitzy glamour costume jewelry that I see (visit www.etsy.com/shop/chanteclairjewelry)…

I want to own it all ... even if it is just for a second, so I can hold it and see it's beauty more closely.

A new added category to Chanteclair Interiors are my beautiful frames. Each is a personally selected antique/vintage (1880-1980) frame. I comb the countryside looking in every "nook and cranny" for that special frame. It is then refurbished, hand colored, and wax rubbed for the perfect finished patina. Total process can take from two to four days and sometimes up to a week for very complex frames!

So that is what this store is about! ... The thrill of the search, the joy of touching, and the fun of sharing and selling to others who have the same passions!

Welcome to Chanteclair Interiors!

Have fun!
