About

When I got married about three years ago, my husband encouraged me to start creating. I had been a musician all my life, and then a music teacher, and never had time or money to create on a regular basis (although I did go through a strong song-writing phase), or even once in a long while. So when my husband encouraged me to do it, I really didn't even know I had it in me, I just kept telling him of all these ideas I had. It got to be so much and so often that he finally said, so when are you going to do any of these things? That's when I realized I really wanted to make these things I kept thinking of. So I began just creating anything I wanted, and I started in papercrafting because that's just where I started. I made cards, scrapbook pages, journals, embellished clothing, aprons, gift tag and bags, basically anything I could think of--anything to get creative. So I began just creating anything I wanted, and I started in papercrafting because that's just where I started. I made cards, scrapbook pages, journals, embellished clothing, aprons, gift tag and bags, basically anything I could think of--anything to get creative. It felt like breathing in fresh air after so many years of being told what to do and how to do it in school my whole life, and then in teaching. I really loved learning and teaching-that will always be a big part of my personality-but I guess I was just ready to move on from that lifestyle. This is because when I started creating things for around the house and my family a couple years ago, it was like experiencing a whole different part of myself that I never knew. Creating for me is like a rush of wind and stillness all at the same time. It just makes my brain make sense. I'm so thankful for my husband, my family, and the Lord Jesus for showing me how much I LOVE being creative!
