Olesya Richards' Profile

About

Hi there! Please come in and make yourself comfortable. Would you like some herbal tea? My name is Olesya Richards and I’m from Russia. Everybody drinks tea in my home country and so do I.

 I love herbal tea!

I was born in Ufa, Russia and went to school and college there.
In 2002 I graduated from art college and became an art teacher. I've been studing art for almost ten years. This activity helps me to notice how beautiful and varied the world is.
After graduation I went to Germany for a year, where I lived and learned to speak German (still trying to improve and work on it). I just love that language.
A couple years later I got to go to the National Institute of Design in Moscow as a Graphic Design major.

I enjoy making all kinds of crafts and learning new techniques. My mom taught me how to sew. She is here on etsy, too. Her shop is called “craftybabus…

I enjoy making all kinds of crafts and learning new techniques. My mom taught me how to sew. She is here on etsy, too. Her shop is called “craftybabushka”. In my childhood, I used to crochet, make jewelry and doll clothes.
One of the coolest memories I have is when I unstrung my mom’s necklaces, took some beads out and glued the beads onto a seashell. I gave this seashell ring to my mom for her birthday. She wondered why these beads looked so familiar and why her necklace got so tight.

Today I live in Broadway, Virginia with my handsome husband. I love my new life in America and I enjoy being a wife and having my own family.

I have two shops on etsy right now.
Olisichka - is my art shop. You’ll find some cute watercolor paintings there;
Chebran- is my accessories shop, where you can find handmade bags and shoes with handcrafted embroidery.

The name Chebran comes from a french word - chébran, wich means fashionable. Most of my items have handcrafted embroidery, wich makes bags and shoes unique and beautiful. Quality is very important for me. Therefore, you'll enjoy my creations for a long time. I’m so gratetful for my mom that tought me how to make high quality things.

I use my own designs for patterns and embroidery. First I make the embroidery. It’s the most difficult and exciting part at the same time, since it is made entirely by hand. It usually takes 3 to 4 days of work to finish it, depending on the design. After that, the handbags and shoes are constructed. All parts are sewn by hand first and with a sewing machine afterwords. This technique ensures that everything is perfect. The shoes are constructed using shoe lasts.

I hope you enjoyed stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!
It was nice meeting you. I hope to hear from you soon!
