Yianna Georgiadou's Profile

About

I grew up on my grandparents' cherry orchard. On our mountain, we could see the Mediterranean sea down below even while we were playing in the winter snow. I hope you'll enjoy the organic simplicity of my designs, which echo the cherry trees of my childhood village.

Cherry Tree Metals showcases my contemporary felting techniques as well as my minimalist metalsmithing in sterling silver, offset by semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls.

In Cyprus, I have been featured in "Arteri" arts magazine and "Politis" newspaper for my designs. Also I have exhibited in private and group shows in Nicosia, Cyprus, and in Sizl Gallery and the Momart festival in North Carolina, USA.

Having begun my studies with master metalsmith Bud Rudesill in North Carolina, I have focused on traditional techniques for metalsmithing by hand. I continued my studies at the Lawrence Arts Center in Lawrence, Kansas and I am currently in London, England where I'm also studying metalsmithing and expanding my palette.
