Cheryl Weaver's Profile

About

I live in the country in Pennsylvania. I have loved drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. I learned to sew with instruction from my mother, 4-H, and of course Home Ec. in school. I have had instruction in the PA folk art style with acrylics, and have also begun working with watercolor over the last three years. I have tried all sorts of crafts including pine needle baskets, weaving, pottery, and often wish there were more hours in the day to play with them all.
Now that I am retired from teaching, my day consists of painting, searching for things to paint, playing with my two chocolate poodles, a maine coon cat and a 6 toed cat, or messing around in my flower beds. These are all my passions. So much to do and so little time.

Now that I am retired from teaching, my day consists of painting, searching for things to paint, playing with my two chocolate poodles, a maine coon cat and a 6 toed cat, or messing around in my flower beds. These are all my passions. So much to do and so little time.

I have always loved to repurpose items, way before it was really popular. I hate waste.
It gives me great pleasure to take an item others no longer want and turn it into something considered very special to someone else. I love doing shows because I get a lot of happy feedback which makes me just want to keep on doing what I'm doing.

I also love spending time brainstorming with friends to come up with new and clever ideas for things to make. And, it is always a pleasure to see someone smile when first seeing something I have just finished. I love to chat with others who have similar interests.

I am a proud member of an Etsy Team called The Old Farmhouse Gathering. It is a talented, professional group of artisans who create everything from Primitive to Shabby Chic, with an old-fashioned flair! Please type--OFG team-- to see all their wonderful work. We can also be found at oldfarmhousegathering.blogspot.com . You won't be disappointed!

Most of the items I list on Etsy are easy to ship. Most of what I make will not fit into an envelope or small box, unfortunately.

Follw me on Facebook to see other things I make and each new listing as soon as it is posted.
