Denise and Janice's Profile

About

Welcome to our little shop, “chickenhearts”, a Mom and Daughter adventure.

My name is Denise. I have been sewing and doing handiwork since a very early age. My Mom, Janice, taught me sewing, crafting and cooking. She made all of our (me and my sister's) Barbie clothes and matching dresses for us. My Grandmothers taught me baking, embroidery and quilting. They all have enjoyed working with their hands and so the skills and love of handcrafting has carried on.

Over the years, we have tried other venues for selling our handcrafts and have been so happy to finally land here on Etsy. My Mom was born in Nebraska where her parents raised hundreds of turkeys and chickens as their livelihood, wherein our love for roosters and chickens has been instilled in us. My Mom was born in Nebraska where her parents raised hundreds of turkeys and chickens as their livelihood, wherein our love for roosters and chickens has been instilled in us. So, here we have our shop name "chickenhearts” which we thought would be fun. I have raised a few of my own chickens and roosters over the years, in my own little backyard coops.

We like to create as we go, whether it is working with wood or material, old or new, to make something special for our shoppers. Between Mom and I, this is a collaborative effort where we complete all our creations with love and skill, to bring a product that is made well, no matter what it may be. We work together to keep our shop updated and running well, as long as we can keep up with technology!!

We desire to glorify God in everything that we make and sell, as well as in our conversations and work ethics. He has given us this opportunity and may His light shine thru us:>)

Thank you for stopping by and visiting our little shop.
