Welcome to A Birch for Monday! Originally from San Francisco, CA, I now live with my fiance in Madison, WI, where I recently finished my M.F.A. in fiction. (My first novel, "The Anatomy of Dreams," will be published by Atria/Simon & Schuster in September 2014 - more information on that at www.chloekrugbenjamin.com!) When I'm not writing, I love to make jewelry, something I learned from my mom. I began my little business in 2011, and since then I've been grateful to be featured in blogs and magazines like Jezebel, Madison Magazine, BRAVA Magazine, MODA Magazine, The Working Wardrobe, Style Symmetry, and more.

I like to work with rocks and stones from around the world to make pieces that are both polished and raw, organic and architectural. I source my materials from various bead and rock shops in Madison, WI, along with the wonderful and very wide web that is Etsy; the stones and chain in my current offerings come from Brazil, Botswana, France and Mexico, among other places. I also try to consistently use high-quality sterling silver and gold-filled wire and chain to create pieces that are safe for sensitive skin and built to last. I also make sure to have gold and silver-plated offerings for those more comfortable with a lower price point, though I'm careful to make sure that plated materials have no lead or nickel.

Most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind, but if you are interested in buying more than one - or in buying a product that has already sold - do ask! I also love doing custom orders, so if there is something you have in mind, drop me a line or click on "Request custom item" in the left sidebar. (This can include tweaking an item that is already available - changing the color of the chain, adding or removing stones, etc.) To read more about my business and philosophy, as well as nitty-gritty items like my return and shipping policies, please check out my "Policies" page.
